Q + A
How should I get there - Drive or Fly?
We prefer to drive! Especially the scenic route avoiding Dallas. It's only about 9 hours driving so if you leave Houston around 8am you'll get to Eureka around 5pm, depending on stops.
What should I pack?
Make sure and pack comfy shoes for all your exploring and walking. The town is built on levels so there are lots of inclines and stairs - be prepared! Ladies - leave those wedges in the hotel room, the cobblestones will leave your calfs sore for a week.
Weather in the Ozarks in April can be unpredictable - ranging from 40degress up to 80 degrees and rain coming at anytime. Keep a close eye on the forecast as you are packing!
What should I wear to the wedding/reception?
We are asking for formal attire - jacket or coat for men and gown or dress for women! Or vice-versa, whatever floats your boat ;)
How do I RSVP to this shindig?
Check out the "RSVP" tab under the menu at the top of this site!
You'll want to enter your name to find your invite.
Where should we stay?
Our preferred hotel would be the Basin Park Hotel since it's so close to everything downtown and that's where the wedding will be. However, they do not allow us to do a room block so it will be first come, first serve!
We think the Inn of the Ozarks (Best Western) is another great option too! It's close enough to town (15min walk, 4 min drive and quick trolley ride) and offers a little more practical/modern rooms and plenty of family-friendly amenities.
Check out the "Accommodations" tab for more details!
It's 9:15am and I'm outside the coffee shop but no one is here. What gives?
Haha, yep, we've been there too! Heads up - Eureka Springs runs on "Eureka Time". Which means store hours are more suggestions than rules.
Places tend to close early and open up late so keep that in mind as you plan out your days. Don't worry, the bars stay open later and serve food too.
Enjoy the slower pace of life while you're here and forget about the hustle-and-bustle you're so used to.
